By accessing or using Novelest ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Novelest is an AI-powered creative writing platform that enables users to plan, write, and manage fiction projects including novels, short stories, and scripts. The Platform provides tools for project organization, character and world-building, and AI-assisted writing features powered by third-party language models.
To use the Platform, you must create an account using one of the supported authentication methods. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep your account information up to date. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
You retain full ownership of all original content you create on the Platform, including manuscripts, characters, plots, worldbuilding notes, and other creative works. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. You grant Novelest a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Platform's services to you. You may export or delete your content at any time.
The Platform offers AI-assisted writing features that generate text suggestions, summaries, and other content. AI-generated content is provided as a creative aid and should be reviewed and edited by you before use. You are responsible for the final content you publish or share. AI outputs may not always be accurate, original, or appropriate, and we make no guarantees regarding the quality, originality, or suitability of AI-generated content. You agree not to use AI features to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.
The Platform requires a paid Standard or Pro subscription for access and does not offer a free trial. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe, our payment processor, and include a stated monthly allowance of AI credits. Additional credits may be purchased as a one-time pack or recurring monthly add-on. Monthly plan credits reset with the billing period; one-time credits expire 12 months after purchase. Subscription and credit purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. We reserve the right to modify pricing, credit allowances, and usage rates with reasonable notice. You are responsible for all charges incurred under your account.
You agree not to use the Platform to create, store, or distribute content that is illegal or promotes illegal activity; infringes on the intellectual property rights of others; contains malware, spam, or harmful code; attempts to gain unauthorized access to our systems; or interferes with other users' ability to use the Platform. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
We strive to maintain the Platform's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Platform at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when possible.
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Novelest shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, including loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to the Platform or other users. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases, but your content ownership rights survive as described in Section 4.
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Novelest operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
